Deviating from the typical poll promises, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate R. Chakravarthi Rajagopala Krishnan promised that many of the issues confronting people in Tirupur knitwear cluster could be solved by cleansing the existing system and implementing corruption free governance.
Pollution“For example, the pollution caused due to indiscriminate discharge of effluents can be stopped by making the monitoring bodies like Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board accountable and cleaning up the Board’s functioning,” he told reporters here.
Mr. Chakravarthi, a cop-turned-politician, reiterated that his party would not end the manifesto with the elections, rather would continue interacting with the people at frequent intervals to know their grievances and would raise the same before appropriate forums.
He said that AAP would constitute grass root level forums comprising people of the respective areas to fight corruption.
Answering a few queries, he said that if gets elected, he would take up with the Railways the demand of the people for getting stoppage for all trains passing through Tirupur station.

Before moving on to chalk out poll strategies with his party members, Mr. Chakravarthi was quick to add that his electioneering would not cause any hindrance to traffic flow and would not cause sound pollution.
