Tirupur bandh postponed to April 27

April 15, 2010 03:25 pm | Updated 03:25 pm IST - Tirupur

The dawn-to-dusk Tirupur bandh that had been planned by the Left parties along with various other political parties on April 16, has been postponed to April 27.

The CPI (M), CPI, Pattali Makkal Katchi, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam had decided to observe the bandh in Tirupur on that day in order to protest against the increase that had taken place in yarn and fuel prices, and also the problems that were being faced by the people as a result of frequent power failures and inflation.
