Minister for Public Health M.R.K. Panneerselvam, on Monday laid the foundation for an additional floor for the Ophthalmology ward at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.

Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry Minister Pongalur N. Palanisamy, Corporation South Zone Chairman, Pynthamil Pari, Lions District Governor, Nandabalan, CMC Hospital Dean V. Kumaran, Resident Medical Officer, P. Sivaprakasam and others took part. The building is coming up with Rs. 25.5 lakh funding from the Lions Club Coimbatore 324-B1 and the remaining Rs. 24.5 lakh is being met with the Government funds under the ‘Namakku Naame’ scheme.
