Pensioners demand enhancement of medical reimbursement

Pensioners of the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGDECO), earlier Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, have sought enhancement of the medical reimbursement facility to Rs. 2 lakh from Rs. 1 lakh.

D. Chandrasekaran, secretary, Krishnagiri District TNEB Pensioners' Association told reporters here on Wednesday that the members are ready to enhance their contribution for the pensioners fund from Rs. 50 to Rs. 100 per month.

Concession

The other demands of the association includes a month basic pay as goodwill amount for Pongal, enhancement of family pension like Union Government for those aged between 80 and 100.

They also demanded 50 per cent fare concession in Government buses like in Karnataka.

The resolutions in this connection were passed at the executive committee meeting of the association held in Krishnagiri recently, Mr. Chandrasekaran added.
