Over Rs.90,000 seized from car

The flying squad seized Rs.97,370 from a car reportedly belonging to Krishnagiri Congress candidate Giyaz Ul Haq on Thursday night. When the squad, led by P. Shoba Devi, Sub Inspector, and K. Nagalingam, Special SI, reached the spot, members of a women self-help group had assembled, purportedly to receive money. Returning Officer and Revenue Divisional Officer A. Noor Mohamed told reporters that the cash was recovered from the bag of Hazeena Syed, wife of Mr. Haq, near Jeenur. The car was seized. The cash was deposited at the Sub Treasury in Krishnagiri.
