The Madras Musical Association choir, in association with The Coimbatore Art and Theatre Society (CATS) will present a concert of light music, “Musical Montage 2010”, on January 29, featuring the hits of Michael Jackson, excerpts from Broadway musicals, favourites from movies such as “Love Story”, and a little jazz and country music for good measure. The concert will be held at GeeDee Auditorium at 3 p.m. and 6.30 p.m.
The choir, which comprises 80 people, will be backed by popular jazz band, Blue Note, along with Edwin Roy on the piano. The concept and compilation of the show are by MMA's music director, Augustine Paul. MMA is an internationally recognised choir, which has performed before the Pope, at the Pantheon in Rome, Coventry Cathedral in England, Sydney Opera House and come 2012, the members will be a part of the pre-Olympics cultural celebration for the second time, at Alexandra Palace, London.
