₹18.50 lakh unaccounted money seized

Sleuths of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption (DVAC) raided the Office of the Assistant Director of Handlooms and Textiles and seized unaccounted cash of ₹18.50 lakh here on Monday evening.

The office is located at Ashokapuram on Bhavani Main Road and yarn to the handloom and power loom cooperative societies in the district is dispatched from there. On Monday, a team led by DVAC DSP Karunakaran raided the office and seized the cash. Assistant Director Sridharan is in Chennai to attend a meeting. The sleuths are inquiring the staff.
