100-km cycling for the nation

A total of 56 cyclists from the city, including senior citizens and differently abled, participated in a 100-km cycling event on Independence Day.

The cyclists had two senior citizens aged above 65, two persons with autism and one physically challenged, according to J. Sabarinathan, one of the organisers of the event. The cycling began near the North Coimbatore flyover around 6.30 a.m. and passed through Karamadai, Mettupalayam, Annur, Karumathampatti and concluded at Chinniyampalayam, he said. Named “Ride for Nation”, the event also saw the participation of two children.
