Pope charmed by hearing impaired child
Pope Francis has praised the freedom albeit undisciplined of a hearing-impaired child who climbed onto the stage to play during the pontiff’s general audience. The Swiss Guards and Vatican gendarmes stood by and gamely let the young boy run around Pope Francis as monsignors read out his catechism lesson in various languages in the Vatican audience hall.
When Pope Francis took the microphone, he explained in Spanish to the crowd that the child was hearing and speech impaired. “But he knows how to communicate, to express himself.”
As the crowd applauded, Pope Francis ended by praying for the boy.

ANOC meet in Tokyo
The Association of National Olympic Committees postponed their presidential election amid farcical scenes on Wednesday in the wake of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah's decision to temporarily step down from the post because of an ongoing legal case.
The Kuwaiti has denied any wrongdoing and, without giving any further details, said the allegations made against him in a Swiss court were politically motivated.
Sheikh Ahmad has stood down from two Olympic roles because of the case and on Monday said he would be stepping aside from the presidency of ANOC, the umbrella body for National Olympic Committees which he has run since 2012.
Traffic on Chennai-Tirupati highway disrupted
Authorisied removed the gas tanker, which got capsized, with the help of cranes at Gajulamandyam junction on the outskirts of Tirupati on Wednesday. Due to this there was disruption in the traffic on the Chennai-Tirupati highway.

An explosion early Wednesday outside a chemical plant in northeastern China has killed at least 22 people and destroyed scores of vehicles.
M.P., Mizoram vote for new Assembly
Polling began in Madhya Pradesh and Mizoram after closely-fought campaigns. In MP, the Congress is seeking to oust the BJP which has been in power in for the last 15 years, while in Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla is seeking a third consecutive term as the BJP looks to uproot the Congress in its last bastion in the Northeast.

Lion Air needs 'improved' safety culture: crash report
Lion Air needs to improve its safety culture and better document repair work on its planes, Indonesia's transport safety agency said Wednesday, in preliminary findings into a fatal crash last month.
Lion Air must take steps “to improve the safety culture and to enable the pilot to make (a) proper decision to continue the flight,” it said in a statement, adding that the carrier must ensure “all the operation documents are properly filled and documented”.
