Miles to go :Miley Cyrus

For a Miley Cyrus fan, this book means a lot. For any other person who thinks she's just an ordinary human being, don't try this book for it might try your patience. And if you are a Hannah Montana Addict, you might find this book a good approach that she has taken to get close to her fans – small anecdotes, experiences, thoughts and other odds and ends that a real Hannah Montana fan might wish to know. But to the rest , you might find the book a little too over-rated and slow; and may end up pondering about how much of a life this 17 year old has lived to write an autobiography.

“Miles to Go”

I personally liked the name because of the pun and the truth in those words. The book has a very casual tone and an abundance of American slang. Psalms from many sources, ‘My Favourite Seven' note and parts of songs composed by her family for various occasions makes it an interesting read. And on the edges of teh pages,in her handwriting are her thoughts about the current topic in discussion. The words are directed at the readers. The work seems to look like an extract from her journal.

Another feature that caught my attention was the fact that she starts her story from Grade Six and not like the usual beginning from the day she was born.

To stardom

Her life is pretty much the same as any other middle school girl – bullying, loneliness, arguments, friends and homework. She almost dreads school. Her family means the world to her. She describes almost every single emotion of hers, her desires and fears. But when Disney's opportunity knocks on her door, things change. Life gets fast paced and interestingly topsy-turvy. The book takes us around the concerts, stage-shows and promo events that she gets involved in, back stage gossip, Hollywood news, co-stars' behaviour and her family's support .

One more point – her words have tinges of advice in them. They are almost like lessons that she has learnt; which she wants to share with her admirers – solutions to school problems, handling pressures, dealing with the pros and cons of being a super star and even tips on fashion and beauty.
