Are you a 'changemaker'?

Global Changemakers, a British Council programme, has been creating and supporting a growing global network of young social entrepreneurs and community activists aged between 16 and 25, helping them become Global Changemakers. The growing global network shares ideas, experiences and best practices in order to help young people make practical and visible differences in their communities, countries and regions. The British Council is currently working with the World Economic Forum, UN agencies and other partner NGOs to provide opportunities for changemakers to voice the concerns of youth around the world, empowering them to make a change.

It is now hosting the fifth annual Global Youth Summit in the UK from 21 – 27 November and the call for applications goes live on July 19 and runs till August 06. The eligibility details for the summit are:

They are looking for social entrepreneurs, community activists and volunteers aged 16 – 19 during the event.

Applicants have to demonstrate their communication abilities, track record and motivation to join the network and take their work further.

A full application consists of a written application form detailing the applicants' personal details and previous work, as well as a two-minute YouTube video in English.

They're aiming for geographic, thematic and gender spread in the 60 participants, guaranteeing a fair representation from all the regions.

For the 60 selected participants, all costs involved in taking part in the summit (travel, visas, accommodation, meals, activities during the summit) will be covered by the British Council.
