• One can be at home and still sit in the front row to watch Amit Agarwal’s new collection or a multi-designer showcase at the first digital Lakme Fashion week (LFW) between October 20 to 25. Organised jointly by Lakmé and IMG Reliance, the virtual fashion platform showcases season-fluid collections, Gen Nex shows and sustainable fashion. “The platform embarks on a digital journey with new formats of display using advanced technology; While events that we manage are held over several months, adapting the same level of safety regulations for a five-day shoot was a challenge,” says Jaspreet Chandok, Head – lifestyle businesses, IMG Reliance.
  • Participants at the shoot were in a ‘bubble’ following safety protocols — four to six days of home quarantine and a three-day room isolation at St. Regis, Mumbai. Jaspreet adds the hotel implemented contact-less dining providing over 4500 + meals boxes for five days to the members.
  • Staff monitoring social distancing norms, usage of masks, face shields and gloves were in place with separate green rooms. Says Jaspreet, “The venue (St. Regis, Mumbai) had social distancing and sanitisation stickers placed as reminders at different places to ensure safety measures. Over 800 COVID-19 tests were conducted during the shoot and drivers were also quarantined and tested prior to being on duty.”
  • One can watch the live stream by registering on Lakme Fashion Week website from October 20 to 25
