A bracelet inspired by the Eiffel tower, made of rose gold and studded with a pair of Tanzanite. A pendent bearing the design of a ballerina in pink gold set on a bed of rubies. A pair of rose quartz earrings inspired by the Dal lake and the motif of a Chinar leaf engraved behind. Rows of fine rubies to depict Tulip gardens, sparkling yellow sapphires to represent the maple leaves and fine-cut luxury diamonds for dew drops. Just imagine the beautiful elements of exotic places like Kashmir and Paris coming alive in the form of jewellery! That's what Zoya has brought to the Temple town for the first time – picture-perfect sceneries from around the world frozen in ornaments. This year, we are looking at newer markets where there's an affinity for differentiated design jewellery. Madurai is the first city we are displaying in Tamil Nadu,” says Amanpreet Ahluwalia, the Business Head.

The brand Zoya personifies a woman who travels the world, says Ahluwalia. “We keep the discerning woman of today in mind and pick up stories. Each piece has a story to tell and Zoya is always eclectic and a collection-driven brand. We travelled to Greece and Spain when we started. And our latest is Paris and Kashmir. It's literally like travelling the world, when we give a walk through of the products.”

“Zoya uses a language of complex modernity that's meant for people who don't buy jewellery as an investment or for occasions. It's for the connoisseurs who appreciate art and its value. That's why our jewellery are versatile pieces that can be worn for various occasions,” says Ahluwalia. “You will not see multiple pieces of the same design. Our customers are premier segment and they like to own something that's hand-crafted exclusively for them.”

The brand is also renowned for its master craftsmanship and fine design. From the design to the final product, it takes about 10 to 12 months for every piece as it's an inspiration driven-design and bringing that design alive is painstaking process. “The pieces may look simple and wearable, but the interlocking and the setting of the stones is super-sophisticated that a necklace would just sit perfect on your neck and take the shape of your collarbone,” vouches Ahluwalia.

On bringing the limited edition show to Madurai, the franchisee of Tanishq showroom, Sridevi Suresh, says, “Being a 20-year-old franchisee, we have been building the brand Tanishq in the city. All our collection launches have been successful. Our store was ranked among top 10 in the sales of the Padmavati collection, that we showcased recently. People in our town can be unassuming and look humble, but the city and surrounding pockets have potential buyers. That's one reason why Zoya came. We wanted to offer our customers the experience of 'designer jewellery' and expose them to unparalleled luxury.”

The expo-cum-sale is on till February 11, from 10 am to 9 pm at the Tanishq store, East Veli Street. For enquires, call 09585553850
