Catch the beauty of Japanese cherry blossoms in the heart of Bengaluru, at Ganjam’s annual exhibition. The handcrafted luxury jewellery brand’s latest collection, Sakura , is inspired by the bloom, and will be the centrepiece of the event.
The family-owned business has been catering to royalty for over 128 years, and is currently run by the seventh generation. The location of the exhibit also pays homage to its heritage. Ganjam Mantapa, once the family’s ancestral home, has now been transformed — with red tiled floors, a wide open courtyard, sandalwood-hued pillars and walls, and a sloping, tiled roof — by architect Renu Mistry into a popular wedding destination.
Prriya Rathee, the senior designer behind Sakura , says, “Cherry blossoms represent the fragility and beauty of life. In this collection, the flower’s journey from a new born leaf to a full blossom has been translated through intricate designs. We have used two of Pantone’s 2017 spring colours, Primrose Yellow and Pink Yarrow.” The pieces feature 18 karat pink, white and yellow gold, ‘F’ colour diamonds, pastel shades of pink and yellow sapphires, and rich shades of rubelites combined with tourmaline beads. Neck pieces, earrings and finger rings, from their Pakshi , Kumudini and 9 to 9 collections, will also be on display.
The exhibition will be on till April 8 at Ganjam Mantapa, Bull Temple Road, from 11 am to 8 pm. Details: 080 26610539
