A SPORTY BITE At Underdoggs Sports Bar & Grill.

A new entrant to Ambience Mall at Vasant Kunj, Underdoggs Sports Bar & Grill, impresses with its spirit of innovation. It claims to bring to Delhiites the longest island bar in the NCR offering unique sports and entertainment options under one roof from pool tables to shuffleboards to dart boards and table tennis to food.

The place is strikingly huge — a sprawling 9,000 sq ft, which plays 40 HDTVs and four projection screens for sports enthusiasts and transposes the stadium atmosphere to the lounge.

There are also special arrangements made to enjoy an international sport, an IPL match or play Xbox or enjoy karaoke with friends in two exclusive private party rooms. At the restaurant, they offer an assortment of bottled beers from around the globe and seek to exquisitely combine the likes of sports fans and bar patrons.

Each wall conveys an underdog theme story and there is also an eye-catching chandelier made out of 600 Adidas shoes which adds more character to an already flamboyant décor. The menu is dotted with quotes by sports personalities.

As for the restaurant's signature dish, The Underdoggs chicken wings is a winner. The chicken, rich in colour, is roasted golden hot and served with honey and garlic.

It is followed by tender galouti kabab canapes which has the quintessentially Indian smoked and spiced tender lamb kababs on mini sheermals. The lamb is fresh, supple and melt-in-the-mouth as it is meant to be. Chicken Swiss cheese melt has thinly sliced chicken breast grilled with mushrooms and onions topped with Swiss cheese and served in French Baguette's. The delicate Swiss cheese coupled with thinly sliced and perfectly cooked chicken makes for an excellent combination. In the sizzlers section, half chicken served with Jack Daniel barbecue sauce catches your eye. The chicken is evenly grilled but the sauce is full of fire and mars the chicken too.

Jalapeno cheese dynamites, on the other hand, is smothered by too much cheese and would have definitely fared better in a moderate avatar.

The desserts' section is elaborate with choices like baked chocolate soufflé with ice cream. But the trump card seems to be the tiramisu — the simple dessert is taken to new heights here with its astonishingly fresh flavour.
