What prompted you enter the realty space?

Since our inception in 2015, we have offered wide variety of services and we often receive requests for adding more services, especially related to home renovation and interiors. Our latest offering — home maintenance on-demand — caters to these requests. While we were already executing atleast 20+ projects (each month) in the home renovation space with a ticket size of ₹1 lakh, we realised there was a viable opportunity to offer these services formally. The lack of big players in the category made us invest in this segment.

What are the new services being offered?

They include home designing, construction and decoration. These new services will enable a customer get complete solutions for their home: from plan approval and architecture to execution and handover. This service will solve the problem of finding trusted and accountable home builders and interior designers and our platform provides end-to-end solutions. Our team will meet clients to understand their requirement and budget. Post the briefing session, we will suggest various design options and once finalised by the customer, the building materials will be decided and the execution will begin. Housejoy will take all necessary approvals and will build the property as per the plan. Customers will be updated on progress every stage of the construction.

How are thy priced?

We don’t take payments in stages — they are calculated based on actual work completed. We also give regular statements and cash flow details as the project is progessing.

Which cities are they operational in?

Currently, the new services have been launched in Bengaluru. We plan to expand to other cities soon.
