Luxury is no longer restricted to hotels and travel experiences; it has seeped into healthcare too. And Chennai is poised to witness the revolution of luxury healthcare like never before.
Enter Westminster Healthcare centre — a subsidiary of LycaHealth from UK, that had its soft launch in the city on May 10 this year. The 70,000 sq ft day-care organisation that works on the premise that the way you are treated is as important as the treatment itself, ushers you into a refreshingly stylish, reassuringly efficient world for your well-being.
With a presence in over 21 countries, Lyca Group has the healthcare centre running successfully in Canary Wharf, London, and in Kent. This is the third such centre they have opened.
“The healthcare business is booming. The 170-million-dollar business is estimated to become 250 million dollars in three years,” says British Deputy High Commissioner, Bharat Joshi, who was present at the launch.
Also present was Prema Subaskaran, chairperson of LycaHealth, and co-founders Dr Manpreet Gulati and Sen Kandiah. Superstar Rajinikanth was seen inaugurating this endeavour that was launched in Nungambakkam.
The facility, that has UK standard experts and a bespoke experience, offers Cardiology, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Bariatrics, Neurosciences, Respiratory medicine, Gastroenterology, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation from Healthshare UK.
“We bring together luxury healthcare and the art of hospitality,” says Gulati, who believes that a business executive walking in through the door, should feel that he has come to attend a business appointment to actually crack a deal with the doctor, rather than feeling vulnerable and out of control, because he is unwell.
Highly accessible
One of the key features of this new facility is the way it breaks global boundaries. For instance, all the health records and scans will be accessible from any connected device across the world. One can also facilitate formal second opinions from medical experts anywhere in the world.
“Westminster Healthcare is investing £15 million in our state-of-the-art daycare. Through video conferencing, you can get UK doctors to check on you,” says Gulati, who added that apart from his team, the British Deputy High Commissioner, Bharat Joshi, and Senior Trade advisor, Ashwin Ravindran, were the most instrumental in this project.
When the art of healthcare is respected, all of humanity is respected. This stands true for all doctors, and is ingrained in them, believes Gulati. On future projects, he adds, “We will be launching Philips Westminster’s Training academy as our first centre of intelligence.”
