Natasha Denona’s Darya Diamond and Blush Palette

Natasha Denona’s Darya Diamond and Blush Palette

With a wide range of options in the market today, affordable makeup often works just as well as its more expensive counterparts, which makes you wonder — are the ultra-luxurious options even worth it? Yes. Well, some of them at least. And more often than not, when you do the math, these options end up being equally (if not more) cost-effective. To get you started, here are four products worth the dent in your wallet.

Natasha Denona’s Darya Diamond and Blush Palette (₹6,200) consists of cream and powder blushes and highlights in various finishes that can either be layered or worn alone, depending on the desired outcome. Like most products by Natasha Denona, the texture is wonderfully buttery and smooth, making the blush blend flawlessly into the skin. This palette is a definite must-have if you happen to love blush and highlight. While the price may seem steep at first, it is important to note that you get a total of 42 grams of product, making each individual pan seven grams (which is the size of your average full-sized blush or highlight). Essentially, you are paying for six products, makin g the cost more palatable. The beautiful packaging helps too. Available on www.cultbeauty.com and www.beautybay.com

Pat McGrath’s Mothership Totale (₹20,650) includes three eyeshadow palettes from different colour families. Mothership i is a cool-toned palette with browns, blues and holographic shimmers; Mothership ii is a warm-toned palette with bronzes, golds and greens; Mothership iii has varied tones of purples, pinks and olives. The formulae include mattes, satins, shimmers, iridescents and metallics. A handy manual will even break down how to apply each colour based on its formula, and it ranges anywhere from wet brushes, dry applicators and even finger tips! This set, while jaw-droppingly expensive, works together in harmony to give you every permutation and combination of colours you could want, making it the only eyeshadow you will need. And the quality justifies the price. If you want further proof that it’s worth it, each palette consists of 10 eyeshadows that are 1.5 grams each. This makes the cost of each shadow ₹690, while a full-sized MAC eyeshadow (also 1.5 grams) costs ₹1,400. Available on www.patmcgrath.com.

Christian Louboutin’s Velvet Matte Lip Colour (₹6,200) comes packaged in an artfully designed, ornate gold case that looks just as beautiful as the formula inside feels. The opaque, velvety matte is extremely comfortable on the lips and very long-lasting. If you like your nude lipsticks, Just Nothing (705M) is the perfect brown-pink nude, but if it’s red that you crave, Louboutin’s iconic Rouge Louboutin (001M) is a classic. It’s just one of those products that was made to be flaunted! Available on www.sephora.com

By Terry’s Baume De Rose (₹3,570) has a cult following, and after trying it I can easily understand why. Not only does it have an SPF of 15, it’s also formulated with vitamin E, rose flower and shea butter, making it absolutely luxurious to use and smell. If you happen to be a lipgloss/lip balm girl like I am, then this is one splurge that is totally worth it. It manages to moisturize even the driest of lips, and works wonders if left on overnight (almost like a lip mask) or even under the driest of matte lipsticks. It moisturises, repairs and soothes, all while being very addictive. Once you try it, it becomes very hard to go back to your average chapstick. Available on www.cultbeauty.com
