Diapers are the last thing you associate with a name like Fig-O-Honey. But that is what Sneha Thakkar calls her maiden venture. The mother of two creates eco-friendly cloth diapers for infants and babies. They come in pretty prints and vibrant colours and are made from water-proof material.
“Every mother wants the best for her child. If you are wondering if a cloth diaper is as comfortable as a disposable one, you can put your doubts to rest with our products.
We at Fig-O-Honey create cloth diapers, made from soft, stay-dry fabrics. It keeps the baby’s skin dry and is also safe for a baby’s use,” explains 37-year-old Sneha, a maths student who had a long professional stint in the field of data science before switching professions.
Sneha took a sabbatical after motherhood and “never saw myself as an entrepreneur. But doing something with fabric was always in the back of my mind,” adds Sneha, who started looking for reusable diapers for her infants.
She imported a few reusable cloth diapers from the US and was “impressed with them. I was exploring better options than disposable diapers. I loved what I was using and started Fig-O-Honey,” recalls Sneha, who says she is also involved in waste management and is passionate about keeping the environment clean. “This was also the time when it became compulsory for us to segregate waste. We knew just the amount of rubbish just our apartment building generated. That is also the time Fig-O-Honey came into being.”
She then explains the material used to create these reusable diapers, “which are made from soft micro-suede that wicks moisture away and keeps the baby’s bottom dry and is also stain-resistant”. She adds the outer layer is a printed layer, made from waterproof breathable material.
The diapers come with a diaper bag that have two sections – one to keep the dry clean diaper inserts and the other to keep the used ones. The diapers come in one size, which can be adjusted to sizes between extra small to large (4.5 kg to 15 kg).
