It is a fact that a mobile phone has become a necessity. From the very basic function of making a call to texting, and having access to the Internet, everything is literally available at your fingertips. The cellphone keeps you in constant contact with people you consider important; it can help you seek help immediately during emergencies; you can lessen your boredom by listening to your favourite music; take pictures; and carry it anywhere. It serves the purpose of a calendar, an alarm clock, a timer and calculator.
On the flip side, people spend less time bonding with their family and friends — they keep contact only through the phone and are too lazy to meet; they spend a lot of money buying the latest model; and they expose themselves to radiation

Notwithstanding the demerits listed against the use of mobile phones, it should be conceded that it is a technological boon. The cellphone has reduced the distance between the different corners of the globe and unified continents.
