Both P V Sindhu and Sameer Verma lost their respective finals in the Hong Kong Super Series. While Sindhu lost in straight sets in the women’s final, Verma fought hard before being undone in three sets.

Australia end losing streak

Australia ended their five match losing streak with a convincing victory against South Africa in the third Test. Despite losing the series 2-1, the win showed that even though their batting frailties might not have been ironed out, the bowling unit still remains strong.

Honours even after day two

India lost four wickets in the post-tea session to finish the day at 271 for six, still trailing England’s first innings score of 283 by 12 runs.

While there were half centuries for Cheteshwar Pujara (51), Virat Kohli (62) and Ravichandran Ashwin (57 not out), Adil Rashid was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.
