New York's first cupcake ATM launched on Tuesday to the delight New Yorkers who can now fulfill their cravings for a freshly baked treat around the clock. The machine to dispense the frosted pastries was debuted by Sprinkles Cupcakes, a chain that already has five similar ATMs operating in the U.S. including the world's first such machine in Beverly Hills, California.
"I conceived the idea of an automatic cupcake machine after having late-night sugar cravings while pregnant with my second son," said Candace Nelson, founder of Sprinkles. "Even as Sprinkles' founder, I couldn't get my midnight cupcake fix! I thought 'there has to be a way,' and so the concept of the Sprinkles Cupcake ATM was born!"
The machine, which can store up to 760 cupcakes and dispense four at a time, is restocked frequently, so cupcake fans can always enjoy a fresh treat.
