Laxmi Raman students celebrate MoM success

TIRUNELVELI: The students of IIPE Laxmi Raman Matric Hr. Sec School celebrated the ISRO's achievement in putting Mars Orbiter Mission into orbit. The students hailed the scientists bearing the 100 foot long banner which read ‘Mars , the pride of India’. S.R.Anandaraman, the correspondent presided over the function. The principal C.Muthuraj, the academic director P.Chockalingam and the vice-principal T.J. Samuel Raj were present.

 Chellammal Vidyalaya’s festive fun

TIRUCHI: Navaratri was celebrated in Chellammal Vidyalaya, and dolls brought by students were placed on

the nine steps of the golu. Students were given a platform to showcase their singing and dancing talents. A presentation on doll festivals across the world, short talks on the significance ofthe celebrations were also

organised. Contributions from the management, students and teachers to be pooled to buy books to donate to a needy school library was also a social initiative which was planned.

Clean campaign at Chettinad Public School

KARAIKUDI: The NCC Unit of Chettinad Public School participated in the Swachh Bharat movement initiated by the government. The students carried out the campaign at the Karaikudi railway station, and shouted slogans to urge the passengers to keep their surroundings clean.

The cadets were involved in cleaning by picking up litter in and around the station.

The principal G.R. Ramesh and NCC Officer S.Stephen accompanied the cadets and motivated them.

Sporting glory for Nava Bharath 

COIMBATORE: The students of Nava Bharath participated in the South Zone swimming championship and clinched many medals. G Hariharan of class X claimed the silver medal in the 50m backstroke, and bronze in 200m backstroke, and qualified for the national level championships to be held this month. Five other athletes Jawahervel. V, Dhanush Nagaraj. V, Saran.S, Nathish

Kumar.P and Sujendhiran. K of class IX got silver in 4x100m Free Style Relay and 4x100m Medley Relay making them also eligible to participate.

The school also held its sports meet recently. S.Suresh Kumar Deputy General Manager, Circle Office, Coimbatore declared the Sports Meet open, and the students displayed their talents in the drill, yoga, karate and aerobics. Vikranth House emerged as the overall winners.

Golu with a difference at Sri Valliammal

CUDDALORE: The Navaratri golu at Kidzee @ Sri Valliammal was different from the regular ones as it was made up of students who took sthe places of the dolls.

The students were dressed as gods, goddesses, and famous personalities and formed the live golu. The special guest Anna Jacintha, awarded gifts to the students.
