Projects were displayed on the following topics:- Foodies, Profit & Loss, Seasons, Angles Around you, Afforestation, History of my place, My Travel Brochure, Government, Economic Analysis, Become an Entrepreneur, Healthy chefs, and Library Management System.

Annual Day at Sankar School

SANKARNAGAR: The Annual Day of Sankar Hr Sec School, Sankarnagar was conducted recently on the school campus. U.Ganesan, Headmaster presented the Annual Report of the school.

S.Gopinath, the Chief of Plant, The India Cements Ltd., Sankarnagar Works, gave the Presidential Address and distributed the prizes to the students who excelled in their academic studies, extracurricular and co curricular activities.

V.Dora, District Educational Officer gave away mementos to the teachers who produced Centum Results in the 10th and 12th Public Examination last year. A cultural programme was put up by the students.

Cancer awareness focus at Litera Zee School

COIMBATORE: The Ideal Mount Litera Zee School observed World Cancer Day. Students of V-VII standards stood solemnly in the shape of the logo of “Cancer”.

Videos of cancer awareness among children were shown with a discussion on prevention of cancer. The children were asked to sead awareness among their relatives and neighbours.

An eventful week at Vivekananda Matric

CUDDALORE : Vivekananda Matric Higher Secondary school, Sirkazhi celebrated its Annual Day recently. K.V.Radhakrishnan, Chairman of the Vivekananda group of educational institutions presided over the primary wing celebrations while Anitha Radhakrishnan distributed prizes to the students who excelled in academic and various activities.

The annual day of higher wing was also held. The Chief Guest was Gangai Manimaran, a scholar.

Students entertained the audience with various cultural programmes.

The school also hosted a seminar on the role played by parents and teachers in adolescent care, in association with Indian Academy of Paediatrics – Cuddalore District.It was attended by many parents and teachers.

At ARB International grand R-Day fete

POLLACHI: ARB International School celebrated Republic Day. The Chief Guest, retired Additional Collector, Vidhya Shankar hoisted the national flag in a special assembly. The gathering witnessed performances by the students. One performance portrayed the freedom struggle.

Chess challenge at Pon Vidya Mandir, Karur

KARUR: A chess tournament titled Smt Kannamal Memorial Sports Academy, 2nd Children’s Chess tournament was organized by Pon Vidya Mandir. It was organized for four categories – Under 9, 11, 13 and 17. Children from more than 50 schools participated. The Chief Guest Nallusamy, President, Karur district Chess association gave away the prizes during the valedictory function.

Vaels holds its first Model United Nations

CHENNAI: Vaels Billabong High conducted its inaugural Model United Nations VMUN recently. The solemn occasion started off with the official march of delegates of various countries, and the formal lighting of the traditional lamp.

Susheela, ateacher of Sri Sankara School who has conducted many MUNs officiated and guided the MUNers.

The Pro-Chancellor Arthi Ganesh, Dean V. Venkatachalam, Principal, R Meenakshi and other dignitaries enthused and encouraged the delegates to do their best in the debates, decisions and negotiations that the students would be involved in for the next two days. The General Secretary of VMUN, Shoaib Hameed, introduced the President and Executive Committee to the gathering.

12Can event at Kalpakkam school

KALPAKKAM: Asia Society for Social Improvement and SustainableTransformation (ASSIST) held its first I2Can event at the Sathurganapattinam Government Higher Secondary School in Kalpakkam. I2Can is a series of experiential learning programs designed to provide young people with the skills and tools to achieve their true potential.

The event’s purpose was to create awareness on health, hygiene, and emergency response, through workshops conducted by experts from around the region. Over 150 high school students took part in the interactive sessions.

Vani Vidyalaya becomes Choco Land for a day

CHENNAI: Vani Vidyalaya Senior Secondary & Junior College at West K.K. Nagar, celebrated “International Chocolate Day”.

The project was pertinently titled as “Choco Land”. The entrance was adorned with a Chocolate Fountain. Choco Land had a variety of chocolate display and lively participation of the students with chocolate albums, choco products.

St Michael student bags the sports honours

MADURAI: S. Samyuktha of St. Michael Matric Hr.Sec. School, performed well at the recently held Republic state level Sports Meet at Coimbatore. She broke a record at Long Jump, by clearing 5.28 mts. She also bagged silver medals at 200 Mts and 100 Mts. She was awarded the State Junior Individual Athletic championship.

She also obtained cash awards for her overall performance under each category. The school management felicitated her for her performance.

Western Ghats school holds Wowlympics

METTUPALAYAM: The Annual Sports Day of The Western Ghats International was held recently. The Chief Guest was S.Asokan, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamil Nadu. He witnessed the march past of the four student

Houses – Agni, Prahmos, Prithvi & Trishul and inaugurated the Sports Meet by lighting the Olympic torch.

The final competition of team games like hockey, football, cricket & throwball was conducted, also the final competition of individual events like rifle, archery, horse riding, golf, chess, karate & athletics.

The Chief Guest distributed nearly 250 medals & cups for the meritorious students for the sports. The overall championship in sports was won by Trishul House and the captains of Trishul House, U.Dharnish and S.Rithanya received the trophy from the Guest.
