Revivalist, traditionalist with a contemporary approach, sari lover, weavers’ friend and guide and a designer…Gaurang Shah is all rolled into one. He now gears up to showcase his latest collection Umrao that celebrates the country's exotic fabrics at the Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Kuala Lumpur. With many Bollywood celebrities swearing by his designs, his collection opening the fashion weekend at the starry celebration does not come as a surprise.

“Opportunities like IIFA will help expand the arts that a few years ago were almost fading away. It’s also a tremendous presentation opportunity. I don’t know what to expect but it’s going to be very stimulating,” Gaurang said.

Gaurang has designed for actresses Kirron Kher, Vidya Balan, Kajal Aggarwal and Amala Paul.
