An occasional indulgence is okay, but it's important to stick to schedule, says Zayed Khan

Input vs. output… that's my fitness mantra. Make sure there's more output and less input of all the wrong things. Do your exercise, your swimming, your cardio. It is a pretty simple equation, if you look at it.

My day is not the same every day. Sometimes I have to work nights. If it is a night schedule you come back in the day and sleep during the daytime. You again get up at night and work according to the schedule.

It's a tough life when you have to work in films that demand a lot out of you. But the most important thing is you schedule yourself around the 12-hour cycle, whether that's day or night, depending on what you're shooting.

Working out in the gym depends on circumstances. Like, if you are going for a power workout you need to spend half an hour, if you're going for a stamina workout it can be anything around two hours. Right now my workout involves swimming, cardio and jogging. I also do cycling and rowing. And then I would do light weights with lots of repetitions, 50 to 60 pull-ups and 200 crunches. That pretty much covers it all.

Also, it's very important to eat well. It's not about having just protein shakes, minerals and nitric oxide or fat burners that everybody is taking to lose weight nowadays. It's a healthy mix of meats, veggies, vitamins and minerals.

You must eat healthy. Avoid eating carbs after seven in the evening because your metabolism slows down, so it starts to accumulate in your body and stores as fat. So the best time to consume carbs is during the day because the metabolism is at the highest then and the body will burn it faster.

I usually allow myself two treats a day but on Saturdays and Sundays I eat anything I feel like.

Sometimes when I feel too bogged down I take out my bike to break the stress. I feel the wind on my face and try to relax.

Plus, I've got a lovely kid at home and a lovely family with lots of nice dogs. I usually end my day with my family, sometimes a little wrestling with my son and some ice-cream to chill out and bond with him. Yeah! I am a happy man! I am a happy customer!
