Thanks to Kanika Subbiah’s newly-launched label, CherryTin, you are now just a few clicks away from finding the ideal gift. Started this June, CherryTin’s product line includes jewellery, home décor products and stationery that are delightfully packaged and can be personalised. Kanika Subbiah, an MBA from the University of Chicago with her sound retail background started this venture to make finding quality gifts easier.
After extensively researching and understanding the aesthetics behind giving and receiving gifts, she and her team came up with a range of goods which you can’t easily find in a store. There’s the Mother of Pearl mirror, monogrammed silver bookmarks, wooden yin yang tea light sets, engraved cuff links, personalised stationery, fine teas, exotic mints and more. You can also make your own gourmet basket with the choices they offer. They recently launched accessories in leather that can be engraved with the name, initials and logo. This collection is ideal for corporate gifting and includes iPad sleeves, duffel bags, money clips and pad folios.
“Online retail is making a huge buzz but one of the challenges is that the customer can’t see or feel the product. We try to overcome this issue with high-resolution images and detailed product information,” says Kanika.
But the collection doesn’t seem very pocket-friendly. “CherryTin is a personalised premium gifting boutique and we want to stay that way. We are also looking at doing wedding, hospitality gifts and thank you gifts. Retail would be our main focus and we don’t really want to go mass”.
