Marriages are made in heaven. But the planning is done on earth. And, it is everybody’s dream to have a magical wedding. Sometimes however, planning a wedding is so stressful, that all the fun is leached out of the event. Wouldn’t it be lovely if there were a wedding planner who would do all the heavy lifting and let you enjoy your day? That is exactly what Lakshmi Keerthi, who started La’kiru Wedding Lounge, promises. When you see clips of the weddings she has designed, you can see a lot of Bollywood influence.

The bride and the groom are introduced as stars of the evening and make very stylish entries. One couple drive to the venue in a stylish car or a chariot, while another enters as a king with young Bharatanatya dancer leading him to the altar.

Even the photographs narrate a romantic story of how the bride and the groom met and what they like about each other and so on. The images are stylish and have attractive captions that describe the mood of the person in the image.

“I started off as a trousseau planner and then people asked me to start planning weddings too,” says Lakshmi. “Being creative and innovative is my USP,” adds this self trained designer, who provides a one-stop shop for a complete wedding.

Depending on the budget Lakshmi plans weddings from scratch. “Once the venue is selected and the dates are set I get to work. It takes me one to three days depending on the time the venue has been blocked. For me the biggest challenge is to give the best in a short time span.”

She started planning weddings five years ago and has designed 50-odd weddings till date, which mostly include South Indian and Punjabi, with a few inter-caste weddings. “Most weddings are theme-based depending on how the couple met. There is a lot of glamour in it.”

“I decide to take up an assignment only if the family is open to my creativity. I can work from anywhere and charge from Rs 2 lakh upwards.”

From invitation cards to the décor and honeymoon planning — Lakshmi promises to add her magical touch. And it does not stop there. “Now I get the same families asking me to design their baby showers too. It looks like it goes on and on. I am happy to be a part of their journey as so much joy is involved and I am working amidst such happy people,” she says.

So, now if you have a wedding round the corner, you know where to go while you can just sit back, sigh and continue dreaming. For details log on to www.lakiru.com
