Shop keeper,Kammanahalli

I was happy with my job in Dubai, managing a small departmental store. However, I missed his family constantly. Six years ago, I could not come home to attend my father’s funeral and brother’s wedding. Passport and visa papers take time in getting processed and I was unable to attend family gatherings. I decided to move back to India. I decided to setup a small store in Bangalore. I liked the weather.

It is closer to my hometown of Kannur in Kerala. I have many friends here as well. The people are very nice.

I set up a store in the Jal Vayu Vihar complex in Kamanhalli and make more and save more money in this job. It is close home and I can attend festivals and family functions easily. I feel that Bangalore has changed for the better in the past few years. The public transport system has improved considerably and managing a business is much easier. When I started to work, this stretch of Bangalore was fairly desolate. The outer ring road was being constructed and not many people used to step out of their houses post eight in the night. All that has changed. It has become very developed and self sufficient in every way. As far as my daily schedule goes, I open the store at eight in the morning and stay here till 9 in the night. I have an assistant who helps me with the chores. I like my job.

I miss spending time with my family in Kerala. They are studying in a school in Kerala. I want to bring them to Bangalore soon. The standard of living in the city has been increasing every year.
