Formally launched in 1966, The Cholamandalam Artists' Village is situated on the coast about 8 km south of Tiruvanmiyur. It is a settlement sprawling over 3.6 hectares, the only one of its kind in the world where a group of artist live and work together sharing an infrastructure they jointly own.
