A view of the `Scooter Riders' sculpture in cement by Vasudevan Namboodiri at The Cholamandal Artists' Village near Chennai, the Capital of the southern Indian State of Tamil Nadu. Formally launched in 1966, The Cholamandalam Artists' Village is situated on the coast about 8 km south of Tiruvanmiyur. It is a settlement sprawling over 3.6 hectares, the only one of its kind in the world where a group of artist live and work together sharing an infrastructure they jointly own.
