-Going live

Interactions: With the increasing prominence of Facebook Live, interactions of celebrities with their followers have become the norm. It’s rapidly growing into a handy promotional tool for companies besides letting them know the pulse of an online audience and ensuring a face to the page they maintain.

Podcasts: If you think your voice does the job better than your physical self, live podcasts are an unfussy way to ensure commentary during an event. The ease of making your podcast go live, will give the vibe of a live radio. While podcasts are not totally new in the tech-arena, the social media gloss promises to give it more spontaneity.

-Whatsapp Invitations

If it’s the wedding season, don’t be surprised to find an invitation in your Whatsapp message list! The trend is catching up fast with the generation as a step beyond scanned images of wedding cards and e-cards. A Whatsapp wedding invitation is something that’s exclusively packaged in a non-weighty format by the digital studios/freelancers. And it’s no rocket science to do it yourself too! With background music adding value to the pictures of the couple, including the entire details one ought to know about the event, the invitation can prove to be an equal match to the physical one. The fact that the couple can personally record the invitation and give it a fillip later from studios proves that there’s a personal touch to the same too. At a time where scanned images are turning out to be rather plain and unoriginal, here’s a trend that promises to stay and breathe some fresh air.

-Video notes

In times when minimalist communication is the order of the day, sending out a message through written messages on a placard on social media is indeed an interesting development. While video posts are enjoying widespread popularity now, spreading a message through notes/cards helps one arrive directly to the point, subtly and sans any external display of emotion. Some examples of the interest surrounding the trend is a differently-abled person who after losing his legs in an accident came up with a video where he evoked laughter through his expressions and the notes. Elsewhere, a mother shared a dastardly account of her second husband assaulting her teenage daughter, cautioning all mothers to be extremely careful of choosing their next partner. Though there have been notes shared through images in the past, video notes are a trend to watch out for.

-Profile pictures

With a deadline: How about giving a certain deadline to your current profile picture on Facebook? Sounds interesting, isn’t it? Be it a particular event, a day of significance or a show of support, temporary profile pictures do the trick like no other.

The video version: This GIF version of a profile picture brings a certain animation to your picture, adding motion to your picture that forever had to remain still, a while ago. Though video profile pictures haven’t caught up with the crowds as one expected to (unlike Twitter), there’s enough fun element in it to find resonance with the public soon.
