The Little Festival presents four productions from three countries

The Little Theatre announces the sixth edition of ‘The Little Festival’. This year, the children’s theatre company presents four productions from three countries, to be staged at Museum Theatre, Egmore. Tickets for the play are priced at Rs.200 and are available at indiastage.in.

The schedule for the festical is as follows:

The R.E.D beancan is set in a time when the world stands on the brink of nuclear war. Two superheroes fight to open a can of beans that is the solution to the world’s dwindling resources. Suitable for Class 6 to 12.

Date and Time: July 2 and 3, 11 a.m. and July 4, 6 p.m.

Simorgh’s dramatic group from Iran presents The last leaf , a non-verbal puppet show. Using multimedia and music, the show figuratively conveys the idea of peace and friendship in the world via the fights between its characters — a cockroach, a mouse, a cat, a dog, a man and a robot. The play is suitable for all ages.

Date and Time: July 5, 6 p.m. and July 6, 10 a.m. and 12 noon

Manetsangsahwa from South Korea presents Puppet Fantasy, Hooray! , to recreate the emotion and beauty of Korean culture through puppetry. Suitable for all ages.

Date and Time: July 10, 11 a.m. and July 11, 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The Little Theatre’s sing-along is suitable for children in nursery to class 4.

Date and Time: July 7, 10 a.m. and 12 noon.

There will also be two panel discussions, conducted by the British council, on the importance of arts in bridging differences, and a workshop for adult actors. For details, call 9677125738.
