Shoes! Ah, people can never have enough of them, can they? Time you make some space in your closet for these beauties, if you don’t already have them.

Brogues

This androgynous shoe style has seen designers such as Stella McCartney and Jil Sander giving a break to the high heels in favour of these dapper flats. Flexible and nifty, they can easily be taken from day to night. It’s versatile and can be worn with anything from a pair of shorts to an evening dress. They can also be incorporated into your work wardrobe. To keep up the androgynous feel of the shoes, you could always pair it with tuxedo pants and a crisp white shirt.

Who’s sporting it? Brogues remain a steady favourite amongst models and celebrities such as Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Taylor Swift .

Ankle-length boots

A solid winter favourite for a few seasons now, ankle-length boots have emerged as the most preferred choice of footwear for many. For daytime casual wear, you can ideally pair it with a midi skirt for a seamless and refined look. Alternatively, they can also be worn with a pair of skinny jeans. For the night, pair them with an evening dress.

Who’s sporting it? Celebrities such as Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana and Halle Berry have all been spotted wearing them.

Ankle strap heels

This particular shoe style probably is the most sensual. Not only are they extremely adaptable, but they also help you look leaner and taller. To work the elongated and stylish appeal, pair it with a high-low dress. For a more casual look, wear it with an oversized shirt and a short skirt. Maxi dresses and skirts are other alternative choices that go well with the heels.

Who’s sporting it? Nicole Kidman, Kate Beckinsale, Dianna Agron and Blake Lively are amongst the many celebrities who are fans of this style.

Sneakers/Running Shoes

Sneakers, also popularly referred to as running shoes or trainers, are no longer just limited to gyms. These comfortable shoes are reigning supreme when it comes to stylish footwear. From the leading fashion house Chanel to the high-street label Zara, sneakers have emerged as the favourite for Fall/Winter 2014. There is no limit as to what they can be worn with. For a classic look, you could always begin by pairing them with a pair of skinny jeans and a billowy blouse or a crisp white shirt. As a step further, sport them with an A-line dress or a pair of overalls.

Who’s sporting it? Celebrities such as Rihanna, Kristen Stewart and Sally Field are a few amongst the many who have adopted this style.

Loafers

This one here is another style that’s been borrowed from the boys. Not only are they extremely fuss-free but they also have a minimalist edge and hence are easy to style. Take advantage of their versatility by pairing them with a printed circle skirt and socks for a schoolgirl charm. For the evening, swap the socks for a pair of semi-sheer tights. To complement its menswear-inspired undertones, simply pair them with a button-up shirt and tailored trousers.

Who’s sporting it? Supermodel Kate Moss and celebrities such as Olivia Palermo and Uma Thurman were recently spotted wearing them.
