The black-and-gold colour scheme of Label'M speaks luxury and opulence. The exclusive bridal boutique at Geethanjali Junction on NH Bypass caters to the sartorial needs of brides-to-be.

The women behind the store are no newcomers to the boutique business. Anu Tinu and Reshma Binu have another store, Boutique Mannath in Panampilly Nagar. This is a specialised version of the previous one, they say. Trousseau shopping, as any bride (past, present and future) will aver, is serious business and it is that shopping spree that Anu and Reshma hope to capitalise on.

It is not just the big day that the store caters to but to the other functions related to the event as well. The duo helps in conceptualising and designing the trousseau. A bride-to-be can, in consultation with Anu and Reshma, design her look. There are filed photographs of garments by them and fabric samples that will help the bride make her choice. And if a bride wants something, a lehenga for instance, replicated Label'M will do it for her.

Cocktail saris, heavy Anarkali kurtas and vibrant lehengas for the various functions and of course the bridal saris…the store will get garments ready for the whole event starting from the engagement onwards, says Anu. The store's USP is customised exclusivity, says Anu. She adds, “You cannot find what is available in our store outside. Because we custom make and design the clothes ourselves.”

Luscious velvets, extravagant zardosi, crisp crochets have all been used to accentuate and dress up saris. They design what Anu calls, “fusion saris.” For the uninitiated, fusion saris are a fusion in every sense of the term. Different kinds of fabrics, of various textures and colours, are fused to make a sari. “These can be worn for the functions related to a wedding, and not just by the bride. Normally there are others who accompany a prospective bride…it is something for them as well,” says Anu.

Saris for Christian brides are carefully packed in net bags. The saris are a treat to look at…from pristine white to deep gold . Just the kind a bride- to- be would fall in love with. “The material is sourced and we design the saris in our unit,” Anu says. Vibrant colours and bold combinations set the saris in Label'M apart.

So here comes something for the bride.
