Impressions are created in seven seconds flat. We have to ensure that the right impression is created within these precious moments.

So first let's check what really matters in these seven seconds: energy that your body exudes; looks, which includes your hair, skin, face, make-up; clothes and accessories and body language.

Energy

Energy is created through a routine of physical exercises, positive thoughts, words and deeds. A smile radiates more energy than a frown. Our energy is what connects to another person/ persons instantly. So if we exude a positive vibe or aura, it speaks volumes.

Looks

This includes haircuts and styles that go with your personality and style. Today, let us explore how we put our best ‘face' forward. Our ‘face' includes skin, features, shape of our face, jaw line and shape of our forehead.

First things first. Our skin is important. It is not only the biggest organ but it covers and protects everything inside your body. It helps keep our bodies at just the right temperature and allows us to have the sense of touch.

The kind of skin we have is largely genetic. The skin of our face is very delicate because it's exposed, unlike the rest of our body. It has to bear the onslaught of sun, dust, heat and wind.

It is necessary that we treat it with reverence and we maintain and nourish it.

Our facial skin tends to have pimples, acne, scars, patches, discoloration, boils, allergies, sunburn, rashes, infections, warts, freckles and so on. Apart from this, it ages faster and is prone to wrinkles, crows feet and laugh lines. Wrinkles are when the skin starts crinkling up, mostly seen in the cheeks and our forehead. Smoking could be the main cause of premature wrinkles.

Crows feet are the tiny wrinkles that appear around our eyes, especially in the corners. They become obvious when we smile and our eyes crinkle.

Laugh lines are those that are formed around our mouth. When we smile, the corners of our lips get wrinkled up giving us the look of being very aged.

Oily skins tend to wrinkle much slower than dry skins. Extreme weather, either heat or cold, play havoc on facial skin.

More on our faces later. Till then examine your skin and relax.
