Evntz365, in collaboration with professional hip-hop choreographer and dancer, Nimbel Funk, presents ‘Funk-in India Dance Camp 2015’. Internationally acclaimed funk-style choreographers and dancers from the U.S.A — Popin' Pete and Yoda Jones — will be here in Chennai, to conduct a four-day Intensive Dance Workshop and Battle. The duo has choreographed and danced for famous stars such as Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Timberlake, The Black Eyed Peas, Janet Jackson and Gnarls Barkley.

Funk-in India 2015 includes workshops and dance battles, conducted and judged by the acclaimed choreographers at ‘The Funkyard’ - Plot No: 9, 10, 11, Kamaraj Nagar, Semmencherry, OMR. Students from Korea, Italy, Sri Lanka, Morocco and all over India will be attending the event to learn from the two celebrities.

The four days consist of two days of workshops where Popin’ Pete and Yoda Jones will demonstrate and coach students in their dance styles of house, popping, locking, waacking, hip-hop grooves, rhythm and freestyle. The third day will witness intense competition as the Dance Battle preliminaries take place between individuals, teams and dance crews. On the last day, finalists will battle it out in front of the international judges for the first place.

There are cash prizes to be won for the different dance categories.

Funk-in India 2015 is a cross-cultural event that aims at laying the foundation for India to connect with the international dance community. Their first visit to India, the event will draw young and talented dancers from across the country.

The event will also raise money for the Ackwerk Rural Development Foundation, an NGO, and the Aum School Project, which provides basic education and amenities to over 60 disadvantaged children in the villages of Navapatty and Mettur Taluk in Salem.
