So, you want to get in touch with Bill Gates, or Richard Branson, but have no clue how to go about it? Well, you can always look them up on Google, and get contact details that are, probably, no longer in use. Or, you can use Connect6°.

Connect6° is a platform that helps people discover and contact people. It has now launched a Chrome extension that lets you look up the publicly available information of a person without any effort.

This extension is meant for a professional audience that wants to discover people’s contact details and social accounts. As of now, it works for Google, Facebook, Twitter, HootSuite, Gmail, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and a number of other well-known websites.

It is simple to get started — just download the Chrome extension and allow it to access your browsing activity. Then, you’ll have to set an account up on Connect6.com

Once the extension is installed, you go about browsing the Internet as usual. However, there is a small difference. When you visit sites that support this tool, you will be able to see a small icon with the search results.

Hover your mouse over it and you will see a Chrome sidebar pop up and provide you with information about that person. This simple process does away with the figuring out if you are not sure whether you’ve found the right person.

You will also be able to see the publicly accessible details of people right in the sidebar, in addition to all their accounts all over the Internet. This way, you’ll know what someone looks like, where they live, what they do for a living, and whether they are active online without having to move away from what you were doing.

You will also be able to see how you are connected to that person, if you are at all connected. This feature is not working as smoothly as it should at the moment, as it fails to show how you are connected to some people that you might be connected in multiple ways.

This tool is connected to the Connect6° Web platform and seems an apt tool for people. So, if you want more details, the idea is that you can hit the button to jump straight across to there, although the details are a little hard to come by in some cases, which is unsurprising given that the platform is still in beta.

This tool has been created keeping professionals in mind, especially those who spend a lot of time looking for people (recruiters, talent hunters, and the like), but it sure is handy for someone who finds himself looking for individuals frequently. You could also just be casually interested in the people you meet.

While this tool will not give other tools that are more detailed, a run for their money, it sure does a good job of giving you information at a glance without any effort, and for free!
