Thekkady is a much sought after destination in Kerala and is home to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is among India's largest wild life habitat spread over an area of 777 sq.kms. Visitors at Periyar can get to watch wildlife at close range with bird and animal life that is fairly unique. One can also experience the cultivation and processing of spices such as pepper, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg which are grown in abundance in Thekkady.
