Soya matar

Ingredients

Soya granules: 1 cup

Green peas (shelled): 1 cup

Skimmed milk: 1 cup

Onion (finely chopped): 1

Garlic cloves (chopped) : 5-6

Ginger (grated): Half-inch

Green chillies (chopped): 2

Coriander powder: Half tsp

Turmeric powder: Quarter tsp

Cumin powder: Half tsp

Red chilli powder: Half tsp

Garam masala powder: Half tsp

Handful of chopped coriander

leaves

Salt to taste

A few drops of lemon juice

Method

Soak soya granules in milk for an hour.

Heat a non-stick pan, add onions and roast till slightly brown. Add garlic and roast for a minute. Add ginger, green chillies, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and two tablespoons of water.

Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add green peas and a quarter cup of water, cover and cook till peas are nearly done.

Add soya granules along with milk and cook till almost dry. Add coriander leaves, salt, garam masala powder, lemon juice and mix well. Serve hot with chapattis.
