ENTHIRAN’S RELEASE

Superstar Rajinikath’s “Enthiran” is to be released on September 24 all over the world. Nearly 35 screens are going to screen it in the city. According to industry sources, some multiplexes are going to screen it in their entire complex. The film has been sold at a whopping price to various countries, including the U.S. Aishwarya Rai plays Rajinikanth’s love interest in the film. The music has been scored by A. R. Rahman, and Rathnavelu is the cameraman. The Shankar-directed film has Rajinikanth play a scientist who creates a robot that looks like him. This robot falls into the hands of the villain. How the hero gets it back forms the plot. Shankar’s usual touch of glamour, songs and other ingredients will make the film entertaining.

FACING THE CAMERA

Film directors donning the grease paint has become common now. Recently in “Irandu Mugam”, Aravindharaj did a character role. Now it is the turn of director Agathian to act in “Avargalum Ivargalum”. The only difference is the film is not directed by him, but by Veerapandian, who was an associate of director Agathian, when he directed films such as “Vanmathi”, “Gokulathil Seethai” and “Kadhal Kottai”. Veerapandian is basically a writer who has brought out a collection of short stories and two books of poetry. According to Veerapandian, the film has shaped up well and will be released soon. “Agathian plays a doctor in the film. He has ample scope to showcase his acting skill. After seeing the rushes, I felt he is not only a good director but also a fine actor who emotes well.” The film has four new faces in the lead — Vimal Natarajan, Iswarya, Subraja and captain C. Kamaraj. There is also Satheesh who acted in Thankar Bachan’s “Azhagi”.

HANDS FULL

Music director Harris Jayaraj is busy scoring music for some of the best-known directors. His entry into Hindi films is with the remake of “Kaakka Kaakka”, starring John Abraham. He is working on the upcoming projects of Prabhu Deva, K. V. Anand and A. R. Murugadoss. In Telugu, he is working for “Orange” starring Ram Charan Teja. He is the music director for Shankar’s Tamil remake of “Three Idiots”. He is to fly to Milan next week where he will compose the songs for the film.
