From expensive cafes to roadside stalls, this delicacy is served everywhere and makes for the perfect breakfast dish, brunch item or snack. A lot of sandwich shops have cropped up around the city, serving an interesting variety of fillings. Here’s a list of fillings that will definitely add punch to your loaf of bread.

Chocolate sandwiches

With the introduction of rich hazelnut chocolate spreads such as Nutella, chocolate sandwiches don’t seem very unusual. But now, with people experimenting with food, there are new combinations to sample. Try out the grilled chocolate dry fruits sandwich, or banana chocolate sandwich to know what we mean.

Dosa sandwiches

Who told you that the good-old South Indian breakfast can only be coupled with chutney and sambar?

In its new avatar, it is packed with spicy vegetables and hot sauce before being grilled, for the ultimate crossover breakfast. And, with a large dose of mayonnaise on the side, it is simply irresistible.

You may despise this vegetable in a curry and may want to skip dinner when its being cooked at home, but wait, have you tried it with mayonnaise?

Nestled between warm brown bread, it’s a delicious and, we’d like to believe, healthy combination.

Ice-cream sandwich

If you are thinking of a sorry scoop of ice-cream trapped between two slices of bread, you cannot be more off the mark.

Instead, its two wo large scoops of your favourite flavour of ice-cream between toasted bread.

The dessert melts just as you take your first bite — gooey, delicious and a wonderful mess we don’t mind.

When you taste this for the first time, you will wonder why you never thought of making this at home. The richness of the white sauce pasta and the softness of paneer lend the sandwich an incredible texture. Savour the taste of all the cheese and mayonnaise.
