Parangikkai paal kootu is a mouthwatering dish which tastes good when served with vethakozhumbu.
Ingredients
Green gram - 50 gm
Red pumpkin, finely chopped - 1 cup
Cumin - 1 tsp
Red chilli - 1
Coconut,grated - 1 cup
Milk -1 cup
For garnishing
Coriander leaves - a few
Curry leaves - a few
Cooking instructions
Cook the green gram and pumpkin in water and mash well. Grind coconut, cumin, dried red chilli into a smooth paste and add the ground paste to the mashed pumpkin and gram.
Add a little water and allow to boil for 10 minutes. Add salt for taste.
Now add the milk and allow to boil for three-four minutes.
Add a few drops of coconut oil and garnish with coriander and curry leaves. Serve hot.
