Grandma’s recipe: Madhur Vada

A tea-time snack from Karnataka

This instant snack is ideal for trips and picnics, when stored in air-tight containers.

What you need: (20 pieces)

Rice Flour: 250 gms

Semolina and maida: 75 gms each

Dalda: 50 gms

Onion: Three Green chillies: Six

Oil : For frying

Salt: To taste

Cooking instructions:

Grind semolina in a mixer. Fry maida in dalda till it turns light brown. Chop onion and green chillies finely. Now mix rice flour, semolina, fried maida, onion, green chillis and salt with water to from batter. Make small balls and then flatten it into round shapes. Fry in oil and serve hot with coconut chutney.
