Eating sweet lime is believed to boost energy levels. Hence, it is advisable to drink a glass of sweet lime juice at breakfast.

The acidic content of sweet lime is said to help balance one’s diet, while the fibre helps regulate bowel movement and detoxify the body.

If you are suffering from fever or a cold, the benefits of lime and water can reduce the severity of the symptoms, because the fruit is rich in Vitamin C. Dissolve a spoonful of honey in sweet lime and warm water for relief from a dry, itchy, or sore throat.

Apply some sweet lime juice to your face to experience acne-free skin. Add sweet lime essential oil to your bath water to calm your nerves. If you are looking for a low-calorie, low-fat drink, turn to sweet lime.

Sweet lime salad

Ingredients

Segments of sweet lime: 1 cup

Yellow, green and red capsicum, chopped: 1 cup

Lettuce, shredded: 2 cups

Cucumber cubes: 1 cup

For the dressing

Mustard powder: half tsp

Black pepper powder: half tsp

Lemon juice: 1 tbsp

Salt to taste

Method:

Combine all the ingredients for the salad in a bowl and chill. Just before serving, pour the dressing over the salad and toss well. Serve immediately.

Ganga-Jamuna

Ingredients

Orange juice: 1 glass

Sweet lime: 1 glass

Sugar (adjust according to taste): one-and-a-half tsp

A pinch of salt

Cumin seed powder: quarter tsp

Pepper powder: quarter tsp

Crushed ice

Method:

Mix all ingredients together in a dish and pour into serving glasses with ice.

Sweet lime cocktail

Ingredients

Gin: 60 ml

Sweet lime juice: 90 ml

Sugar water: 30 ml

Sugar: 1 tbsp

Warm water: half a glass

A pinch of salt

Some soda

Method:

Combine all the ingredients together and serve in a chilled tumbler with ice.
