Food, music and a board game… all yours at Brewberrys Café

Hot, freshly-brewed cups of coffee, snacks and continental dishes, an assortment of the choicest books and board games to choose from and free WiFi; if this is your idea of a perfect hangout place, Brewberrys Café, a newly-opened coffee bar at Sasthamangalam, is a place you should not miss.

Brewberrys Café is part of a national chain of restaurants of the same name, which has a presence of over 45 stores in 15 states.

The warm ambience, an assortment of fresh continental dishes and plenty of entertainment options promise to provide a wholesome experience for diners. The cosy restaurant has a soothing feel as I walk into the restaurant on an evening, tired after a long day. More than the well-decorated interiors, a stack of books on the shelf and a guitar hung on the wall, catch my eye.

“The café is designed as an ideal getaway for youngsters,” says K.S. Rajeev Unnithan, managing partner of Krish Associates, the firm that runs the city’s Brewberrys Café.

“We offer a host of board games such as Monopoly and chess for our customers to rack their brains as they enjoy their brew. While the tech-savvy can keep up with their social networks thanks to the free WiFi, music aficionados may strum their favourite tunes with our guitar,” he adds.

Rajeev adds that the restaurant has facilities to arrange birthday parties, meetings and get-togethers.

As its name suggests, brews are the highlight of the café. From the regular cappuccino to the Irish Frappe and many more, one could be at a loss trying to choose the right coffee! The restaurant also features a neat array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and wraps along with mojitos, ice creams and sundaes.

I decide to start off with coffee. To my disappointment, my choice, the Irish Frappe was not available; so I went for an Irish flavoured Café Latté, which arrived in no time. The freshly-brewed latte offered an energising start to my meal.

The Chicken Street Wrap was the next item on my list. It easily turned out to be the winner of the day. The boneless and juicy chicken pieces were yummy, and the presence of onion and garlic made the dish all the more delectable – indeed a veritable reinvention of the famous Indian street recipe.

Next up was a Barbeque Pizza, which took some time to arrive. An interesting combination of spicy barbeque sauce, diced chicken, pepper and onions, the dish went well with my taste buds.

For a moment, I pondered on having an Iced Mocha, a Sizzling Brownie or a Strawberry Mojito as my dessert. And I would have had it too, had I not been satiated by the wholesome main course, which was indeed a remarkable dining experience.

Brewberrys Café is located on the Vellayambalam–Sasthamangalam Road, at Krishna Towers, opposite SBT .

The restaurant is open from 9 a.m. to 12 midnight. Contact: 0471-2724572.
