Within Lords Plaza Hotel is Blue Coriander, a multi-cuisine restaurant. Frequented primarily for lunch, Blue Coriander has on offer both buffet and a la carte. The restaurant has a steady clientele, including in-house guests and walk-ins, and is quite popular for corporate lunches.

If you can brave Bangalore traffic to get to that end of the city, then dinner at Blue Coriander is a good option. If you want to liven up the evening, then you can also head to the spacious rooftop lounge bar, Distil. The understated, yet stylish interiors of Blue Coriander add to the dining experience.

The buffet has a large spread, there is live cooking station, and a small bar. We seat ourselves in a comfortable corner of the restaurant and order vodka-based watermelon cocktail.

We help ourselves to hummus and baba ganoush and a variety of salads, including a fresh green salad, which is the tastiest. We are served starters that comprise of a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters. Among them, the mixed vegetarian green is a clear favourite.

Made with corn flour, soya sauce, ginger, garlic, onion, spinach puree, green pepper, the mixed vegetarian green tastes much like vegetarian Manchurian, but is not as spicy. The stuffed mushroom, which comprises bell pepper, roasted thyme, cheese and potato, is another must try.

The Mexican tortilla soup is a swirl of tomatoes, garlic, onion, thyme, bell peppers, fresh cream, with accompaniments of tortillas.

We hear that Blue Coriander is best known for their North-Indian cuisine.

So for the main course, we choose dal makhni, chicken sagwala, butter chicken masala which we savoured with naan and rotis.

The proof in the pudding is in the eating, they say. That’s the case with the mutton biryani. It is divine that you just have to try. We end the meal with Lords Hotel’s in-house pastries: black forest, white forest, strawberry pastry and blue berry cheese cake. The pastries soft and melt-in-your-mouth.

Blue Coriander is located at Lords Plaza Hotel, 26-A Electronics City, Phase 1, near Infosys Gate 1, Hosur Road. Call: 40408888.
