It was when Hitesh Khanna was at the Bombay Kulfi outlet in Coimbatore that he had his Eureka moment. He decided he would open a dedicated kulfi shop in Chennai for “customers to relish the authentic, rich, creamy texture of a kulfi”.

Walk into Bombay Kulfi’s tiny, colourful interior; tap the glass counter and pick a frozen kulfi disc underneath. The assistant then cuts it into bite-sized squares and serves them on a plate.

Frequent requests include malai, sugar-free malai, kesar-pista, mango, rabdi and Calcutta paan. With pieces of fresh tender coconut to bite into, the delicious tender coconut kulfi is easily the highlight of the store.

Bombay Kulfi is located at 1, First Main Road, Sastri Nagar, Adyar. Call 4553 0099.
