I have normal to oily skin and whiteheads on my nose. How can I get rid of them? Give me some home tips to get rid of them.? Rajalekshmy

After washing the face, wipe with an astringent lotion, using cotton wool. Facial scrubs help discourage whiteheads and also suit oily skin. Use a scrub twice or thrice a week. Apply on the face and rub gently on the skin, using small, circular movements. Wash off with water. Some home remedies may help. Make a paste of fenugreek (methi) leaves and apply on the face every day, washing off after an hour. Grated potato or potato juice may also be applied. Drink six to eight glasses of water every day. Add the juice of a lemon to a glass of water and drink it first thing in the morning.?Drinking barley water is also said to help get rid of whiteheads.

Can I mix astringent lotion with cold chilled rose water and then apply it on the face? I apply turmeric on my pimples. Should I mix it with curd or water?? Divya

Yes, you may mix astringent lotion with rose water and apply it on the face. Sandalwood paste, to which a pinch of turmeric has been added, may also be applied on pimples. Mix cinnamon (dalchini) powder with a little lemon juice and a few drops of honey; you can also add a little turmeric. Apply this every day on the pimples and leave on for an hour or two.

My hair is frizzy and fast becoming thin. Please suggest natural remedies to promote hair growth, and turn it soft too.? Deepika

Ready-made conditioners coat the hair and help soften and protect it. After shampooing, take two drops of a light vegetable oil, such as sunflower oil, on your palm. Rub lightly, and smooth over the hair. Have a deep conditioning treatment once a week, before shampooing. Mix together an egg, a tablespoon of castor oil, the juice of a lemon and one teaspoon of glycerine or honey. Apply on the hair, cover with a plastic shower cap and keep on for an hour.?Or, mix an egg, a tablespoon of mayonnaise and a teaspoon of olive oil. Apply on hair. Leave on for half an hour and wash. You can do away with the egg. Else, apply curd on the hair half an hour before shampooing. You can also mix some water with creamy hair conditioner and store in a bottle, and spray it on the hair. Then comb, so that the mixture spreads through the hair.
