Vacation blues

April 15, 2013 03:59 pm | Updated 04:30 pm IST

Summer vacations are the most blissful time of the year. Neither do I have to wake up early for school nor do I have to do homework or get nagged at, for not doing it.

It doesn’t matter how old you are, not having to do anything that you don't wish to do is pure bliss.

But now, a feeling has crept up in me that is ruining the summer joy. I miss school!

Don't get me wrong. I still enjoy the vacations. It’s just that I miss all my friends and some of my fun-loving teachers. I miss gossiping, joking and laughing with them. I miss the noisy chatter in the classrooms, the sudden hush with the arrival of a teacher, the scolding which follows and even the punishments. I miss the crowded bus rides arguing with my friends over the most trivial matters.

I would be glad when school reopens and I can see my friends again. Without them, my life just does not feel complete.
