Christmas celebrations have been kick-started at Courtyard by Marriot. Yes, it’s only the beginning of December, but the earlier the season begins, the longer the fun lasts.
The ginger-bread house making competition was held at Rhapsody for kids in the age group of three to 11 years. The kids were grouped into four teams and the youngest participant was 15 months old!

Vincent Fornoff, Steffan and Susanna Kozina were declared winners. They have won free brunches for themselves, every day at Paprika for a year!
Lesley Culley, who is from the U.S., has been in Chennai for two years. She says, “My daughter, Clair is old enough to know it is Christmas. With this event, I feel Christmas has come to Chennai.”
The ginger bread was baked to a hard crust and icing sugar made sure the ginger walls stayed firm. The house was then decorated with biscuits, candies, Christmas trees, leaves, and apples.
There was dancing and Christmas carols too! IT manager Vijayalakshmi said, “My four-year-old daughter Haripriya from the Doveton HSS, had only read about ginger bread houses. Now she plans to draw a ginger bread house in her drawing exam.”
Houses collapsed, decorations fell off, but the kids did not give up. They continued to build their little ginger bread houses.
